We are looking for a studio design manager to lead the design effort of our growing retail footprint around the country. You will be responsible for driving the designs of our stores, working closely with our in-house design, development and studio teams. You will handle the initial design development of our stores, manage our architect, and coordinate everything needed from a design perspective to ensure all of our Candid studios are brand appropriate. You will report directly to our VP of Development in our NYC HQ.

What You’ll Do

  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of interior and architectural design for designated projects from pre-construction to project close-out. Including: initial design phase of the development process, design project scheduling, design coordination, consultant coordination, adjust and update project plans as needed
  • Analyzes and guides space and design planning - creates and designs all drawings, floor plans, signage and layouts: provide, review and coordinate design documents with internal and external stakeholders
  • Engages directly with architects and general contractors, focused on driving vendor performance during design build-out phase
  • Consolidates, communicates and manages all design issues and risks affecting the project; communicates project status to project participants and stakeholders accurately and on time
  • Review construction drawing package from our partners to ensure consistency with Candid design standards

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 5 + years of design experience. Retail or hospitality experience in a multi-unit setting preferred
  • Excellent technical and software skills, including Revit, Cad and/or Sketch Up
  • Strong project management, time-management and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; able to recognize when to pivot vs holding steady
