Description

Blue Apron is looking for a motivated individual to manage all Financial aspects of our business. The ideal candidate will be a persistent self-starter who is excited to guide a cross-functional team through complex analyses. You will be consummate communicator and provide insights that will enable your business partners to make financially sound decisions.

Responsibilities

Manage all financial aspects of corporate & fulfillment center operations, including tracking to budgets and maintaining accurate forecasts

Perform monthly variance analysis of budgeted/forecasted against actual financial performance, clearly interpreting and documenting variances and cost drivers

Identify areas of improvement in fulfillment center operations; advocate for an environment of continuous process design and improvement

Support the month end close through identification of expenses to be accrued; work closely with accounting to ensure expenses are properly recorded

Oversee monthly physical inventory counts; ensure proper protocols and controls are implemented to achieve accurate counts

Assist with analysis and review of contracts and inventory management including capturing appropriate cost assumptions

Support local management through ad hoc financial analysis

Work closely with Finance HQ in New York and fulfillment center peers at other locations to ensure best practices are identified and rolled out locally

Other special projects as assigned

Requirements

2-3 years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

Functional knowledge of financial reporting and accounting

Team player that can drive cross-functional initiatives involving employees from across the organization

Ability to form and develop relationships with a wide variety of functional roles and organizational levels

Ability to problem solve, strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail, thoroughness, highly organized

Are comfortable communicating to senior management and business partners in in a clear and effective manner
