About your role

This is a Manager level position responsible for all of the company’s financial and administration operations in the greater EU. As a member of the management team, this position will help shape the company’s overall vision and business plans, and assist the rest of the management team in any way to ensure that the company successfully executes its plans as it relates to Wikia’s EMEA operating units (PL, UK, Germany, Spain). Provide overall leadership in Financial matters of Wikia’s EMEA subsidiaries and branch offices, including budgeting, planning, systems integration and reporting. Wikia should be viewed by our investors, customers, and employees as having finance & reporting operations that are streamlined and high-quality

Areas of Responsibility

Maintain the General Ledger for all EMEA subsidiaries
Perform monthly closing process
Establish and maintain a journal entry control system
Analyze and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts to supporting documentation
Establish a system and process that will insure timely accurate financial reporting for all EMEA offices/subsidiaries and branches.
Prepare the monthly department, Subsidiary and or branch office financial statements providing comparative analysis to plan
Maintain the fixed asset ledger – identifying those assets owned by the company and those collateralized by lease lines and other bank financing
Budgeting & Planning - Assist in the preparation of and monitor the company’s actual performance against the current budget and business plan
Treasury - Maintain the cash records for all EMEA offices/subsidiaries and branches, reconcile all cash accounts with bank provided information, including credit card transactions with reports from those agencies.
Revenue – Insure timely billing and invoicing of all revenue and proper accounting treatment as for all EMEA offices/subsidiaries and branches policy on revenue recognition.
Contracts management – Review all contracts with vendors of all EMEA offices/subsidiaries and branches. Insure consistency and compliance with company policies.
Reporting and tax compliance - Insure timely reporting of monthly financial information to the parent company. Insure timely reporting of all taxes with the appropriate authorities.
You are...

4+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting Manager position in an international company; advertising or IT background will be a strong asset
University degree/certification in Finance/Accounting
Proven statutory accounting and financial knowledge
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferably) & strong Excel skills
Excellent communication skills in English, German would be a plus
Strategic thinker with high degree of analytical talent and business process understanding
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Ability to see the big picture and anticipate business issues
Pro-active hands-on, solution driven mentality, with attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to work independently (there is one report) and to cooperate with other cross-functional teams
