We are seeking a smart, highly energetic and self-starting person to build a newly created Business Operations (BizOps) function within SendGrid. The principal goal of this function will be to help drive cross-functional business activities and initiatives that maximize revenue and profitability to create shareholder value. The BizOps function is going to be a substantial contributor to our strategy for profitable growth and will have a large impact on our ability to create shareholder value.

What You’ll Do

Routinely work with the initiative and project-focused teams to analyze risks and opportunities, synthesize findings, develop go-forward plans, and act as part of the ongoing team to translate recommendations into results.
Help build and grow a highly capable BizOps team who will be the critical right hand partner to all of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and serve as a talent bench for the rest of the company.
Take meaningful responsibility and initiative for shaping and executing upon our strategy and operations.
Responsible for evaluating new market opportunities and coordinating cross functional teams internally to evaluate those opportunities using rigorous benchmarking, financial and operational analytics that lead to executable business plans.

About You

Typically, 15+ years of experience in operating and strategy roles
7+ years of prior experience in a strategy consulting role, or similar operating and strategy experience within a corporate environment is critical to the success of this role
Highly collaborative, and partner-oriented professionally who is comfortable leading multiple cross-functional teams in parallel on a near continuous basis
Strong foundational use of strategic and operational frameworks that enable execution of projects in rapid succession with well thought out hypotheses and conclusions. An 80/20 thinker, who can tease through complexity quickly in order to frame issues and drive to recommendations and plans
Very comfortable leading cross-functional project teams, and doing large scale Data Analytics to support framing alternatives, conclusions and recommendations
Understanding of how to create visibility and to translate business initiatives into actionable plans that create shareholder value
Service-oriented individual who works well with others, and has a passion for helping others drive successful business outcomes in their areas of responsibility
Very strong communications and presentation skills, with a key ability to explain complex business issues in easy to understand terms that drives alignment across the company’s leadership team
Strong attention to detail
Undergraduate degree with MBA strongly preferred
