Payroll Specialist at Vidyard

Vidyard is looking for a talented Payroll Specialist to join our team and be responsible for the administration, processing and management of all payroll related functions, including the processing and reporting of Canadian and US Payroll. You will also collaborate with the organization and look for opportunities to continuously improve our processes and create efficiencies.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will:

Complete bi-weekly payroll

Maintain payroll records in accounting software
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Verify and reimburse monthly expense reports and commissions
Coordinate with HR for changes / updates related to payroll
Reconcile bi-weekly payroll and post corresponding entry into accounting system
Manage 401K and RRSP contributions and corresponding deductions
Process ROE’s, as required
Manage US state registrations and compliance

Compile required information related to new US state registrations, as required
Maintain accurate listings of all registration information and coordinate with payroll provider
Various payroll tasks

Reconcile bi-weekly and monthly headcount reports
Calculate monthly EHT owing
Reconcile bi-weekly expense report submissions and post corresponding entry into account system
Post monthly journal entries related to commissions payable and accrued payroll
Preparation of year end T4 and W-2/1099’s with assistance from payroll provider
In addition, the Payroll Specialist will contribute to special projects as needed, as well as administer and maintain certain programs run within the company. You will also be actively involved in the implementation of a new payroll system.

To be an effective team member, you will have:

Post-secondary accounting degree or diploma
Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience
Superior Excel skills (construction and maintenance of spreadsheets)
Ability to interact with other teams across the business to maintain a high service level to the organization and become the point of contact for all payroll inquiries
Experience using accounting software such as Intacct
CPM Ontario designation, either fully completed or in process
