About your role: As an Operations Engineer you’ll develop infrastructure to enable rapid deployment, effective monitoring, and high availability in a large-scale Linux environment. You’ll work closely with development teams to ensure that services are designed with scale, operability, performance, and ease-of-use in mind. Your day to day operations will include diagnosing and resolving performance and reliability issues across entire stack: hardware, kernel, application, and network. You are... Experience running high availability systems and supporting infrastructure, Experience with Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, LXC, KVM, Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl), Strong understanding of Linux systems, both high and low level, Knowledge of relational databases, Strong understanding of configuration management best practices and standards, Experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana, InfluxDB, Working knowledge of configuration management tools (preferably Chef), Familiarity with automating Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or similar virtualization platforms. Experience working in hybrid environments, Familiarity with CI software and distributed version control systems, Expert-level knowledge with modern monitoring systems, Readiness to participate in an on-call rotation (8AM-8PM and weekends), Experience with compiled languages (Go, C/C++, Java).
